Everything You Need to Know About the New Xbox Game Pass Changes

🔥 Everything You Need to Know About the New Xbox Game Pass Changes in 2025
Gamers 👾, Microsoft shook things up yesterday with a huge announcement about Xbox Game Pass.
It’s not just about price increases, but a complete restructure of the service.
Some players are happy because of the new benefits, others are upset about higher prices. Let’s break everything down and see what’s best for you. 🎮
📌 First: The Main Changes
Microsoft removed the old tiers (Core and Standard) and replaced them with three new ones:
- Essential 👉 was Core
- Premium 👉 was Standard
- Ultimate 👉 still exists but with new features and a higher price
🎮 Second: The Difference in Number and Type of Games
Tier | Number of Games | Additions |
---|---|---|
Essential | Around 50 games | Classics + Online + Some Cloud Games + Rewards |
Premium | 200+ games | All Essential benefits + Xbox games added later (not Day-One) |
Ultimate | 400+ games | All Premium benefits + +75 Day-One games per year + Ubisoft+ Classics + Fortnite Crew + Higher streaming quality |
💰 Third: The New Prices
Tier | Old Price | New Price |
---|---|---|
Essential | – | Around $10 |
Premium | – | Around $15 |
Ultimate | $20 | $30 💥 |
PC Game Pass | $12 | $16.5 |
Note: These are global prices. In Egypt and other regions, prices will change depending on taxes and dollar exchange rate 💵
🤔 Fourth: Why Did Microsoft Do This?
– Modern game development costs are very high 🎮
– Cloud gaming requires huge investments 💻
– Splitting users into tiers helps increase revenue 🤑
– Adding Ubisoft+ and Fortnite Crew makes the value stronger against competitors
– Ultimate became the “complete package,” but with a much higher price
🕹️ Fifth: Which Tier Should You Choose?
✅ Essential
If your budget is limited and you just want to play some basic games + online play.
⚖️ Premium
If you like a wide variety (200+ games) and don’t care about playing new titles on Day-One.
👑 Ultimate
If you love Day-One releases, and you want Ubisoft+ and Fortnite Crew with the best streaming quality and the largest library.
This is the tier for hardcore gamers who want everything from day one 🔥
🎯 My Opinion as Gamezawy
In short, Ultimate became much more expensive (a 50% increase), but it gives huge value.
If you’re a casual gamer and don’t care about Day-One → Essential or Premium is enough.
But if you want to be part of the action from the very first second → Ultimate is the only choice.
The decision depends on your budget and play style. 😉
